Half Moon Bay State Beach is a protected beach that stretches 4 miles and is the perfect setting for some fun in the sun. Many beachgoers enjoy the stretch of sandy beaches for sunbathing, picnicking and fishing, and surfers appreciate the unusual waves that are unique to Half Moon Bay State Beach. Pillar Point Harbor is a county park located at the north end of the bay that is most known for the well-kept trails most used by bikers and hikers of the area. Pillar Point is also known as having some of the tallest surf in California after large storms, perfect for any surfer looking for a little thrill.

Hatch Elementary School, Kings Mountain Elementary School, Sea Crest School (Private K-8), El Granada Elementary School, The Wilkinson School (Private Preschool), Manuel F. Canha Intermediate School, Pilarcitos Alternative (continuation) school and Half Moon Bay High School. A few colleges in the nearby area include College of San Mateo, Canada College, Skyline College, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco State University, Notre Dame de Namur University, California Culinary Academy and Stanford.

In terms of healthcare, Alsace Lorraine families are centrally located to many topnotch care facilities. A few of these include Stanford Health Care, Mills-Peninsula Health Services, Sequoia Hospital, Seton Medical Center and California Pacific Medical Center. The Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center is also not too far from the Alsace Lorraine neighborhood. This inpatient/outpatient, diagnostic, emergency and psychiatric facility is the only Level One trauma center in Northern San Mateo County.
