The West’s Premier Antique Show, held three times each year at the San Mateo County Event Center.  325 Exhibitors, 506 Booths.   Antiques, Decorative Arts, Fine Art and Vintage Collectibles from the 17th Century to the late 20th Century.    Exhibitors from the Americas, Europe and Asia.   Admissions help fund the volunteer work of United Voluntary Services in VA Medical Centers  across the USA(four in the Bay Area) ; Hillsborough is the only charity antique show on the Peninsula.    There are hundreds of antique shows in California, only one Hillsborough -- the Original!

Hillsborough is the major fund raiser for United Voluntary Services, and admissions from the Show help fund their volunteer work in VA Medical Centers, including of course Menlo Park.   We are the only charity antique show on the Peninsula.  Numerous commercial enterprises currently try to capitalize on the Hillsborough and/or San Mateo names, but no event supports a veterans charity.

Parking: $10 per car (Cash ONLY)

2012 San Francisco Cherry Blossom Grand Parade

by Kathy and Michael Rain - The Rain Team

Wondering what's there to do around San Mateo County this Sunday?  Bring your kids out to Japantown for  the 2012 San Francisco Cherry Blossom Grand Parade! The parade begins at City Hall in the Civic Center at 1:00PM and proceeds up Polk to Post Street where they all hang a left. Naturally, it all ends in Japantown at the intersection of Post and Fillmore Streets.

The San Francisco, Taiko Dojo will keep the parade upbeat with the thundering sound of the taiko, and this year's Queen and her Court will cascade their way to Japantown. Streams of colorful floats will be carrying young women representing Japanese American and other Asian American communities. There will be lots of flowers because, you know, we're good at that sort of thing.

Keep in mind that the closest garage parking is under the Japan Center. For public transit information into and out of San Francisco please visit You will find a list of city-owned public parking garages here. You will find express bus service to Japantown from Market Street, downtown San Francisco, on the MUNI 38-Geary line.
