At A Grape in the Fog you will find an extensive wine list ranging from Old and New World boutique, craft-style beers, hard cider and low-alcohol cocktails. On the food menu, they offer a Tapas-style food selection including artisanal cheese, charcuterie and mouthwatering desserts. A Grape in the Fog also hosts over 20 events per month with wine tastings, art classes, quiz nights, live music and so much more! You can enjoy their outdoor patio and bring your furry friends (on a leash) to enjoy the ambiance as well.

The Beach Monkey Organic Café is a neighborhood favorite! They are well known for their welcoming and hospitable staff, delicious food and quaint location. Indulge in acai bowls, smoothies and pour-over coffee, or some of their delicious freshly baked pastries, bagels, breakfast sandwiches and organic coffee. For lunch, they offer organically minded entrees using fresh produce that include soups, salads, and their daily specials. If you are in the mood for a cold one, they also serve beer here as well.

This take out only establishment specializes in everything BBQ! Don’t be thrown off by the bright orange boxcar, Gorilla Barbeque is as eccentric as it is delicious. Despite the small size of the business, Gorilla Barbeque still cooks 1,500 pounds of brisket, ribs and links each week. A few favorites on the menu include the Philly Cheese Steak, Mac 'n' Cheese, Beef Brisket and the Pork Ribs. Whatever you are in the mood for, Gorilla Barbeque is sure to please even the pickiest of taste buds.

Frequented by locals and tourists everyday of the week, Nick's Seashore Restaurant is known for their nostalgic ambiance, seaside view and for the best crab sandwich, ever. At this 4th generation family owned business you will find a large menu filled with delicious food, good music and impeccable customer service. What else can you ask for in a dining experience?

Finally, for those looking to bring the local produce to their own kitchen, the Pacifica Farmer’s Market takes place every Wednesday from May to December in Rockaway Beach. Parks and Recreation in Linda Mar

Linda Mar offers many indoor and outdoor activities for the entire family to enjoy. The Sanchez Art Center is known as one of the best cultural attractions in the area, displaying showcases by well-known and up and coming artists. Put together by community volunteers and fellow artists, this art center has an arts education room, a ceramics workroom and studios for local artists to perfect their craft. Eight times a year captivating art exhibits are changed out in each of the three stunning galleries, ensuring fresh art and content each time you and your family visit. There is also the Mildred Owen Concert Hall which houses world-class blues, jazz and classical musicians as well as some of the wittiest comedians you will ever hear. Lastly, Pacifica Spindrift Players is a performing arts theatre group that puts on marvelous musicals, plays and contemporary productions, and also offers acting classes and a summer camp program for those interested in learning more about performing arts. 

For those with a more adventurous spirit, there are many outdoor activities around the coastline and winding trails of Linda Mar that are sure to please any adventurer, of any age. One of the most scenic, frequented beaches in the area is Linda Mar Beach. It is a popular destination for kayaking and surfing in the glistening water, biking and walking along the Oceanside trails and even whale watching in the spring months. There are private surf camps available for children and adults during summer. Linda Mar Beach is the picturesque destination for a family day in the sun. Another great destination is Rockaway Beach, which hosts beautiful beachfront hotels, mouthwatering restaurants, charming shops and lovely walking paths. 

There are many great trails in the Linda Mar area that are ideal for walking, jogging or biking and sure to leave you in awe of the beautiful surroundings. The Golden Gate National Recreation Area is one of the world’s largest urban national parks accounting for over two hundred years of history. Attracting around 17 million visitors annually, people from around the world flock here for the astonishing natural beauty and fascinating history that is apparent around every corner. Another great trail, Sweeney Ridge, is a federally protected area open to hikers, bicyclists and equestrians between San Bruno and Pacifica. The 1,200 foot-high summit slides down to the Pacific on one side and the bay on the other, and has views overlooking San Andreas Lake, the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco peninsula. 

Two great parks to keep an eye out for are Frontierland Park and San Pedro Valley Park, both sporting great activates and open areas for the family to enjoy. Frontierland Park, thought to be a “Bay Area Gem,” has an impressive children’s playground, great picnic areas and also host to the annual Fourth of July celebration (complete with water balloons, amazing food, face painting and fun for the entire family!). 

 

Schools, Health and Transportation in Linda Mar

Families of Linda Mar will attend schools within the Pacifica School District and Jefferson Union High School District, both having met or surpassed the high performing school criteria by the State of California. Within these districts are 16 preschools, 9 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 3 high schools. The high schools include Alma Heights Christian Academy, Oceana High School and Terra Nova High School.  There are 2 libraries, Pacifica-Sharp Park Library and Pacifica-Sanchez Library, which offer a homework center staffed with teachers and mentors to provide a friendly helping hand. The 4 colleges around Linda Mar are comprised of Skyline College, Notre Dame de Namur University and Canada College. 
  
There are also a number of topnotch care facilities and hospitals in the area. Seton Medical Center is regarded for its care and treatment for stroke and cardio-vascular conditions, and offers a broad array of medical specialties for inpatient and outpatient needs. It also has emergency and urgent care facilities and offers the only 24-hour stand-by emergency department. The Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center is close by and the only Level One trauma center in the area. There is also the Linda Mar Rehabilitation care facility which US News and World Report have named the Best Nursing home and received a 5-star facility rating by Medicare. Lastly, there is the Linda Mar Veterinary Hospital. This full-service veterinary office is dedicated to the treatment and prevention of diseases to ensure a long, healthy life for your furry family members. 

There are many means to get around in Pacifica other than walking, hiking and biking. With numerous highways winding in and out and multiple public transportation options, including the SamTrans bus service, no destination is too far or too difficult to commute to. The closest airport is the San Francisco International Airport which is about 15 miles east of Linda Mar.
